The Gold Buckle Stallion Incentive sets the standard for big payouts, but even outside the program, the money talks. Horses not sired by enrolled stallions earned a combined $175,489.00 at the 2025 Spring Showdown, proof that sharp talent still finds its way to the pay window.

โ€œThe incentive is where the real money is, and thatโ€™s by design. We want to reward the programs investing in this space. That said, when horses outside the program are still winning over $170,000, it shows the strength and reach of the entire futurity system,โ€ says Jeremy Barwick, Gold Buckle Futurities co-founder and stallion liaison.

From sharp futurity contenders to seasoned maturity horses and consistent performers in the Limited classes, these entries made the most of their runs. Even without being tied to an enrolled stallion, they held their own in deep fields and came away with a share of the payout. The list below highlights the horses who earned part of the $175,489.00 awarded outside the incentive program at the 2025 Spring Showdown.

These top earners stood out in a field where incentive-backed horses dominated the spotlight, proving that grit, and preparation still go a long way. From first-round runs to average payouts, they found their footing and capitalized.

While the Gold Buckle Futurities Stallion Incentive leads the way in payout potential, these results show thereโ€™s still solid money to be earned outside the program. โ€œHeโ€™s not in the stallion or breederโ€™s program, but thatโ€™s the good thing about Gold Buckle. Everyone can show up and play,โ€ remarked Trevor Brazile on his winning run with Not White At All. As the program grows, so does the opportunity, and these horses are proof that strong runs still get rewarded.
