ARDMORE, OKLAHOMA, May 12, 2024 โ€“ Andy Holcomb and Chex Out My Finey and Tate Kirchenschlager and DCC Fools Gold topped Gold Buckle Futurities Spring Eventโ€™s open heading divisions, taking the 4-and-Under Heading Futurity and 6-and-Under Heading Maturity titles, with the two divisions paying $155,800.

Chex Out My Finey, a daughter of One Fine Vintage out of Tangys Last Chex by Tangys Classy Peppy, won $38,500 for her score of 902.52 on four under Holcomb for owner Kaleb Driggers over the weekend. Holcomb and wife Fallon Avery bought her from breeders Robertson Ranches as a weanling, and Driggers bought her as a 3-year-old. Holcomb has had her in training ever since, and the mare swept the Open Average, the Elite Stallion Incentive, the Elite Breederโ€™s Incentive and the Intermediate Heading, worth $38,500 for his efforts.

โ€œI really like these ropings, and adding the Breederโ€™s Incentive into it makes it even better,โ€ Holcomb said. โ€œIโ€™m just trying to catch them all, so Iโ€™m not keeping track of which horses are eligible in the incentives. So to stay hooked and keep roping is key.โ€ DCC Fools Gold nearly doubled his lifetime earnings over the weekend, having entered the roping with $28,621in QData earnings, leaving with $20,500 more for his score of 905.56 in the Maturity Heading. DCC Fools Gold, already a Royal Crown Champ in Rock Springs, Wyoming, in 2023, is a 2019 gelding by Metallic Echo out of DCC Smooth Sugar by CJ Goldrush, owned by Dasco Land and Cattle.
