ROPING INFORMATION

GBF will implement and use a judged and timed-event format to determine the winners, to create a level playing field measuring each individual horse. Our goal is to create a platform as a whole that provides equal opportunity for the trainers, competitors, and horses that compete at the GBF events.

We look forward to your participation as stallion owners, sponsors, trainers, owners, and spectators. The rope horse industry is alive and well and we are excited to journey into the success of those that work diligently to see that it remains that way. We strive to ensure that all involved enjoy themselves no matter the level in which to choose to participate. Hang on – because the elite are just now getting started!

How many horses can one rider enter?

There is no limit on the amount of horses that one rider can enter.

Does my horse have to be sired by a GBF stallion to be able to enter?

The open roping is available to any registered horses sired by any stallion. However, to be eligible to compete for the GBF Elite Stallion Incentive purse, your horse must be sired by an eligible stallion.

Where is the event going to be?

GBF has plans to host two events per year. With that being said, our first event will be in December of 2023 and be held in Belton, Texas (December 27-30).

What is the age limit on a horse to enter?

GBF will be offering a futurity (four-year-old horses) and a maturity (five and six-year-old horses). However, in the team roping will have a Non-Pro Class that will be available to any age horse.
